API ACCESS

Your key, same business day.

Placematic issues free evaluation API keys for geocoding, routing, address search, territory assignment, and spatial search. Three required fields, no call, no approval interview — a scoped key with live data, usually within a few hours.

Same business day — person checks the request, then the key goes out.

Real data, not a mock sandbox — live geocoding, routing, and territory endpoints under evaluation limits.

Full documentation, open now — read the API reference before you even request a key.

GET api.placematic.io/v1/geocode
curl "-H "x-api-key: $PM_KEY" \ "https://api.placematic.io/v1/geocode?q=1600+Golf+Rd+Rolling+Meadows+IL"

    FAQ

    Common questions.

An evaluation API key is free, time-limited access to the Placematic Spatial API — geocoding, reverse geocoding, address search, routing, territory assignment, and spatial search. Keys are issued and operated by Placematic USA LLC, return live production data under daily request limits, expire after 30 days, and require a business email address.

Nothing. Evaluation keys are free and don’t convert to a paid plan automatically. When your volume exceeds evaluation limits, we scope a contract together — that’s a conversation, not an auto-charge.

Daily request caps per endpoint, sufficient for integration work and a proof of concept, not for production traffic. Keys expire after 30 days and can be extended on request.

Yes. Same endpoints, same data, same response format. The only difference is the rate limit.

No. Placematic USA LLC is the contracting and billing party for everything, including HERE-powered services. You never negotiate with HERE, never receive a HERE invoice, and never need a HERE account.

Yes. The same credentials work over our MCP server, so an agent can call geocoding, routing, and territory assignment directly with deterministic, versioned responses. See https://placematic.com/mcp/.

We send credentials to verified business emails only. This protects our infrastructure and ensures we’re working with teams building real products.

A demo is a 20-minute call where we show you the platform. A pilot is API access so you can test it yourself. If you’re not sure which is right, start with a demo — it’s faster.
